THE FRENCH VERB

Only some VERB issues are treated here. If you need further support you should GO TO the Texas University French web site HERE.

If you learn to control the French VERB, you can consider yourself having one foot already in Paris.

A French Verb form may display in its physical appearance (spoken or written) the meaning of:

  • time perspectives, like present, past and future
  • mood like conditional and subjunctive( this does not exist in English anymore so you should study it very closely)
  • gender (male, female) agreements
  • number agreements
  • consequently the verb endings and irregular forms that you will have to learn to control in order to speak and write French correctly, are numerous. DO NOT DESPAIR you can learn them the fun way here at BSDE.

You will find here some very useful support.

SOMETIMES 2 VERBS FOLLOW ONE ANOTHER. They may be linked by DE or À or NO PREPOSITION between them.
