The
aim here is : to
allow the learner of French of any proficiency level to read any French
text and be able to quickly access "French-It-Right" as a reference
resource for the appropriate pronunciation of French letters or letter
clusters.

| The
need for a Quick Access Reference Guide

| · | As a distance education
teacher and
thus instrumental in the teaching/learning of learners from schools with
varying educational capacities, I came to the conclusion that there was
an urgent need for a quick reference guide resource to help with the correct
pronunciation of French letters and letter clusters in reading texts, where
such reference guide should be a companion-tool for the independent, distance
mode learner. This current project intends to fill that gap in the most
pragmatic way. I hope that language teachers will equally find this project
useful. | |

The learner will be able to
promptly access sample sounds for their problem text context from the MENU pane of French-It-Right.Just
identify the French letter or letter clusters in the text, then go to
the left Menu pane of the application and locate it. Double click it and
it should take you to a page with buttons. Once more, look for the problem
letter or cluster and click that button to hear the samples in mp3 sound
format. Try to hear the recurring sound in order to establish how your
letter or cluster should be pronounced. You do not even need to understand
the sample words in order to consolidate the pronunciation of the sound. | |
